WHAT IS ECO SCHOOLS? 
Eco-SCHOOLS is an application applied to provide environmental awareness, environmental management and sustainable development education in schools.With a participatory approach, students at schools both learn about environmental issues and take an active role in raising awareness of their families, local governments and non-governmental organizations on environmental issues.

In order to help implement the sustainable development process, students are guided to take an active role in 7 steps implemented to reduce the environmental impact of the school. Therefore, eco-schools go beyond teaching in the classroom and play a role in ensuring environmental awareness in other parts of the society. It gives students habits that will affect their success and use throughout their lives as well as about the environment.

1st DAY

 

  • What is Eco-School?
  • Form an Eco Committee in your school
  • At school: in the class or groups form an Eco Committee with both teachers and students.
  • Biodiversity
  • What are the key characteristics that you can observe and why does the organism have them?

 

2nd DAY

 

  • Action plan
  • Decrease the use of chemical herbicides,
  • pesticides, etc.
  • Awareness
  • Artificial nests
  • Planting
  • Create micro-ecosystems

 

3rd DAY

 

  • Monitor and evaluate
  • To find out whether or not you are successfully achieving the targets set out in
  • your Action Plan
  • Evaluating the success of your activities will allow you to make changes to your Action Plan if required

 

4th DAY

 

  • Produce an Eco Code
  • Provides participants with a
  • strategy on what actions can be taken to preserve and conserve the environment
  • Main objectives of the Action Plan

 

5th DAY

 

  • Practices around the world of Eco-schooling
  • European and global challenges

 

6th DAY

 

  • Ecology in education
  • Visit Local green areas
  • Visit Eco-Schools labelled schools

 

7th DAY

 

  • Design your own Eco-School
  • Cultural Trip
  • Certificate Ceremony
